This year, the much anticipated Cannes Film Festival was held from May 11 to May 22. The event was created 69 years ago and is now one of the most publicized film festivals in the world, which includes a grand opening ceremony and a red carpet walk.
In this article, we’ll be summarizing what happened during these 12 days!
This year, the jury was lead by director George Miller, who most recently released the blockbuster movie “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
Palme D’Or: “I, Daniel Blake” by Ken Loach
Grand Prix: “Juste La Fin Du Monde” by Xavier Dolan
Award for Best Director:
1) Olivier Assayas for “Personal Shopper”
2) Cristian Mungiu for “Bachelor”
Award for Best Screenplay: Asghar Farhadi for “Forushande”
Jury Prize: “American Honey” by Andrea Arnold
Award for Best Actress: Jaclyn Jose for “Ma'Rosa”

The Cannes Film Festival is also a chance for stars to reveal their newest outfits!

Reality TV star Kendall Jenner chose to wear a black and see-through dress that had heads turning!

It’s typical of companies to try and promote their brand in movies, especially through the use of smartphones and accessories.
This is evident in Spider-Man, as we can see him using a Sony Ericsson throughout the movie.
In “We’re the Millers”, Apple devices show up quite often.
We also often see them protected by personalised phone cases in order to prevent them from breaking!
