When I first saw the name of this phone I was not sure what to think. Actually, I had never heard of this brand before. This rather intrigued me as it was nice to see something different from the normal behemoths like Apple and Samsung. I wanted to know what the specs were inside, so today we are going to look at the brand new WileyFox Spark!
Besides the WileyFox Spark, there are two models of this type of phone released: Spark + and Spark X. The Spark will be the first of the three to come on the market for £ 89 SIM-lock free. Unfortunately, the phone is not available in stores because WileyFox is an online business, just like OnePlus and Honor.
Not only is the price remarkable, but the appearance of the WileyFox Spark is also attractive. The phone is made of high quality aluminium and for the price that’s very good. The phone has a 5 inch screen and has a size of 143mm x 70.4mm x 8.65mm, which fits nicely in the hand.
The WileyFox Spark has a 5 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 at 294ppi. The IPS Panel might not be as good as the AMOLEDs, but Android still looks good!
The phone has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. Unfortunately, the phone has trouble running certain apps, which crash regularly. If the apps would run a bit smoother then we could look past it. But even the most simple things, like the call function, can make the phone crash. In addition, the phone has only 8GB of storage, of which only 2.65 GB is available for you. Thankfully, however, there is a MicroSD card slot.
You can’t expect too much from a phone that costs under £100. It does offer a lot of great features, but it just seems to miss the mark and falls short trying to do some basic things. Overall, for the price it’s an alright phone, but I won’t be rushing to the shop to buy one.
